Lil Treasures #226: Post Malone + 14 Excel Spreadsheets
Plus double albums, spiritual gaslighting and Beavis and Butthead
Hello, lovelies!
I hope your week has been grand. I’m still processing TTPD (because 31 songs is like, a lot) and although this album is not my favorite, I will still probably be making it my entire personality, just like Duane. If you ride in a car with my anytime soon, best believe it will be blasting from my speakers.
I do prefer the 1989/Lover pop-era Taylor more, but I’m still here for a new album, and support her as a musician and boss-lady. And listen, all I’m saying is that even Jack Black endorses Taylor Swift as a musician, so you gotta give her some cred for what she’s done for the industry.
We’d have a week to absorb the new album, so I’d love to hear your thoughts about the album (if you care) in the comments! Tell me your thoughts, favorite tracks, etc etc.
Now let’s move on to this week’s slew of treasures!
📱 Buckle up, pals! This week’s episode of Faith Adjacent covers a wide range of topics from Instagram heresy, spiritual gaslighting, and spicy responses to passive aggressive memes. It’s a fun one, and you can listen to the episode wherever you get your pods!
🤠 The collaboration we never expected but all needed was Postie singing Garth Brooks.
🌱 Remember in the book of John when Mary Magdalene mistook Jesus for a gardener (because she didn’t recognize him post-resurrection)? This print of Mary Magdalene and Christ The Gardener brings that story to light in a beautiful new way.
🐝 I really loved this poem about Spring by James Pearson. This time of year that is trying it’s hardest (as it usually does) to remind me that growth and beauty still exists.
🏈 This week’s award for the treasure with the most potential for tears goes to this Samford football player (in Birmingham!) who changed his last name to surprise his stepdad.
📕 One of my most-anticipated reads of 2024 is Shannon Evans’ The Mystics Would Like a Word. Coming out this September, Shannon’s book is all about six women (who were mystics) that met God and lived out a Christian spirituality that embraces the entire reality of womanhood. If that intrigues you, you can pre-order your copy here or wherever you get your books!
🥞 Time feels like such a luxury these days, and I’m always dreaming of the things I’d be doing if I had a little bit more free time. I want more than 24 hours, as Gabriella Llewellyn says in her poem. What would you add to the list if you could enjoy every second of 24 hours?
🪩 This is exactly how it feels listening to “I Can Do it With a Broken Heart.”
💀 SNL’s recent sketch about Beavis and Butthead absolutely sent me. I was in pain from laughing so hard.
🖤 Thoroughly enjoyed these very niche tweet roundups of both Romantasy characters and the Tortured Swiftie Dept, two things I am very invested in currently.
💃 We are all about teaching my son to respect the ladies in the Moon home, and luckily I think I’ve found a new consequence if I ever find out he does not follow those orders.
My favorite memes from this week
That about does it for this week’s best links + memes! May your weekend be full of marvelous things and your iced coffee remain undiluted. See you in the comments 👋
1. Current TTPD trifecta is: Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?, But Daddy I Love Him, Fortnight
2. Very excited about Shannon’s book, preordered with a quickness
3. Definitely need more Gabby Llewellyn poetry in my life
My favorite treasures this week have been the videos of the freshly drafted to the Buffalo Bills Keon Coleman during his press conference and getting toured around the stadium! This young man is a delight! I can’t wait for more of him this season ☺️
