🍟 Lil Treasures #252: McDonalds, Guardian Angels + Musical Theater Tenor Boys
Plus some fun resources from your fellow Lil Swipes!
Hi, friends!
Have I told you lately that I love you? Because I do 🫶
It’s been a minute since I’ve taken the time to highlight some of the amazing work in this Lil Swipes community, so I thought I’d share about a couple of folks who are doing really cool Stuff and Things™️!
- Looking for a companion guide for Advent this year? Sherah-Leigh Gerber and Gwen Lantz wrote a new book full of readings and practices for the Advent season! You can order Comfort & Joy at this link or on Amazon.
- Sarah Masterson has a new business called Cultivating Mustard Collective, where she works as a creative companion to help women in their businesses and hold them accountable to start + finish projects! For those of us who tend to get stuck when it comes to inspiration and productivity, this kind of resource would be a total game-changer. You can email Sarah at ponytale.masterson@gmail.com if you want to know more about how to partner with her.
Now for the treasures!
👼 Have you listened to the new episode of Faith Adjacent yet? Here’s the link if you want to hear the conversation as we covered questions about Guardian Angels, Infant Baptism and Prayer.
🎤 This post by Andy Squyres is a whole dang sermon and has me feeling some sort of way.
😍 Can we talk about how INSANE the chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Amelia Dimoldenberg was in their Chicken Shop Date last week? Apparently I was not the only person on the internet who thought so (swipe to see the reactions).
💃 Listen. Y’all know I love Ilona, and I have been absolutely obsessed by Dancing with the Stars this season with her as a contestant. I’m so proud of her! I was not ready for the emotional rollercoaster of it all, especially when her rugby teammates and her sisters showed up and absolutely sold out for her in the stands. Cue me, uncontrollably crying.
🎧 I was recently introduced to Jayne Sugg and her music and I am hooked! Jayne’s new album Belief is Hard just came out this week and is worth the listen if you’re looking to add some new tunes into the rotation.
📣 A lot of us grew up with our dads in the stands, coming out to support us at every recital, spelling bee, performance and sporting event. I don’t take that for granted and often wish I could return the favor! These two did just that and were the ultimate cheering section for their dad’s adult hockey game.
🔊 These dads curating the perfect playlists for the ladies in their life to have a good time is the kind of chivalry I want to see.
💔 If you’ve never had your heart broken by a musical theater tenor boy, there is so much in store for you with the Wicked movie.
Don’t forget about the memes!
Thanks for reading and I truly hope your weekend is fine and dandy! Have your own assortment of treasures you’ve gathered from the week? Please share them with us in the comments!
❤️ Andrew freaking Garfield. MY HEART.
🫠 I live in a swing state and am so dang ready for election season to be over because of the nonstop tv ads and mailers, but I’m also terrified for the election to be over. My husband and I already mailed in our ballots and I’m trying to find some peace in knowing that we did our part, but it doesn’t feel like much.
📺 We’re currently watching Only Murders in the Building, Agatha All Along, and the GBBO - this might be our best October of shows ever! Highly recommend all three.
☕️ A sentence I never thought I’d type: I’m obsessed with this mushroom coffee!

A coworker recommended it after I mentioned that I had to give up caffeine a few years ago, and my beloved decaf teas just haven’t been cutting it in the morning lately. It tastes great (I drink it with vanilla oat milk creamer) and gives me energy without any crash or jitters!
📖 The Plan by Kendra Adachi is exactly what I need right now and I just want to adopt her as my big sister. 😭
Have a lovely weekend all!
Thank you so much, Erin! Your support means the world.
My treasures:
Reading- I started online university at Buena Vista University this week! It has been a dream many years in the making, so I am devouring social psychology (my minor is in sociology) and attempting to understand literary theory (my major is in English). I am also making time to read The Small and The Mighty by the wonderful Sharon McMahon and An Offer From A Gentleman by Julia Quinn. (I can't wait for Luke Thompson's season of Bridgerton!)
Watching- I haven't had time to watch much tv this week but I am developing a fascination with the moon and the night sky so I've been watching/paying attention to those. It's nice to be reminded that there is something bigger than us during election season.
Eating- Soup! Tis the season for delicious bowls of soup and crusty bread. I highly recommend Magnolia magazine for fall recipes. I also want to bake some of Joanna Gaines' bars for election night.
Have the best weekend available to you, friends!
