In conversation with a friend over the break, they told me how weird they thought I was regarding my online and offline cageyness about writing a book. “Like, stop being weird, you’re MAKING it weird.” It’s probably a fair critique, but I have no idea how interesting anyone else finds the book-writing process, so I just tend not to talk about it. It feels similar to ranting about your job to your friends who have no context about what it is you do. Your job may be difficult, but they don’t have a reference point, so they’re just like, okay? I’m sorry? You chose this? Also you got paid, yes?

But I spent a lot of the break up to my nose in the editing process of my book, which is supposed to come out early 2025-ish.
