Happy Friday to you and yours!
Today is my daughter Marlo’s tenth birthday 🥹 and while this makes me ALL KINDS of emotional, I am excited to celebrate with her in Chattanooga this weekend for her special 10th birthday trip. We’re gonna talk about periods and consent and go through a shark tunnel and have high tea! Thanks so much to those of you who gave me some high-quality Chattanooga suggestions, we will be taking full advantage of your brilliant expertise.
🍵Speaking of high tea, today’s newsletter is extra fun because we’re doing a GIVEAWAY!
My new friend Rebecca over at Sachai Tea Company has so graciously offered to give away some of her fabulous chai tea products to a lucky Lil Swipe! Listen, I had the chance to try some of this tea and it is delightful. Leave a comment below with your favorite tea flavor and you can win a box with both the Original Chai Concentrate and Bergamot Black Loose Leaf Tea 🎉
Whether or not you enter the giveaway, you should definitely check out The Sachai Tea selection and for all Lil Swipes, you can get 10% off with the code THESWIPEUP! We love the dealz in this corner of the internet.
Now on to the treasures!
🎂Sometimes we all can think like middle school boys which is why this clip from the Great British Baking Show absolutely made me cackle.
🥔Checking my daughter out from school today a little early for her Chattanooga birthday trip and prepping myself for this inevitable conversation with the school secretary.
😅For everyone out there raising the youth of America, don’t miss this teen parenting hack!
🦺We’re making our way through every sport on the map in this family and I CANNOT HANDLE this video of alpha dads at their son's games. The vests. The lack of eye contact. Just so good.
🗺️ This map inspired by the Taylor Swift universe is essential for any die-hard Swifties.

Cheers to the weekend, friends! Can’t wait to see you again next week.
Listen, I don’t know what kind of school secretaries they have at Marlo’s school, but last year I went to pick my son up midday and this was the conversation.
Me: Hi, I’m here to pick up Ben. He won’t be back today.
Her: Does he have a doctors appointment?
Me: [should I lie? No, what if he comes back tomorrow and tells everyone?]…no. We had friends come into town unexpectedly, and I grabbed his bathing suit from home and were going to go play in their hotel pool all day. You can mark it as unexcused. [hangs head in shame]
Her: FUN!!!!! I’m going to put down “Dentist” as the reason he’s leaving.
LISTEN TO ME, I am SHOCKED that there are no Constant Comment enthusiasts in the chat. it is basically a sweet spiced citrus black tea that is all very mild and wonderful. Bigelow makes it, you can get it anywhere probably. If you like chai, very good chance you will also like Constant Comment, unless citrus is the dealbreaker for you.
Treasure this week: I know I am extremely late on this take, but I've started watching Call The Midwife recently, and so far (about 4 episodes in) I think it is delightful and also very honoring of a lot of different stories. Also, being currently 24 weeks pregnant, it is making me so grateful for all the medical resources we have in 2023, iykyk.
