🐧Lil Treasures #157: Penguins and AMC Signature Recliners
We're talking period trackers and pear salads
Hiiiiiiiii.
My trip to Europe was magical, but I have returned! I watched four movies, saw a lot of the world’s greatest historical artifacts and ate the best burrata of my life. I will never be the same. It’s good to be back, but I feel like I missed so much while I was gone! I’m gonna need you to fill me in on what’s happening in the comments STAT.
For now, let’s jump in to this week’s treasures!
🍐My friend Courtney at All The Best Days knows how to make your Christmas salad dreams come true. Do yourself a favor and go make this pear pomegranate Christmas salad! You’ll thank me later.
🔕Our beloved Emily P. Freeman (author of The Next Right Thing to those unfamiliar) just compiled some of her work into an app called The Quiet Collection. This app is an excellent spiritual resource with prayers, blessings and meditations to assist you on your faith journey. It’s a lovely way to either start or end your day and I’m so excited about it! You can download it and browse some of the collections at this link.
🍵This video about loving your neighbors this holiday season is SO GOOD, it’s from one of my favorite TikTok accounts that combines making tea and dropping theological knowledge.
🐧If you need your lil heart to be warmed today, please watch this video of an elderly woman and a penguin becoming friends.
🍪We’re eating salads this Christmas but also making these gorgeous Mexican hot chocolate brownies 🤤
🎻This week on the Bible Binge we’re doing a Favored or Forsaken on The No’s of Church at Christmas. It was pure chaos and we talked about flying violinists and stripping angels, among other things. You can listen to it here or wherever you get your pods!
This week’s good Tweets:
So into this story about a hamster
That’s all for now, my lovely pals! Thanks for making this newsletter a part of your Friday. I’m off to binge a whole lot of the GBBO Holiday episodes - what are your plans for this weekend? Can’t wait to read all your treasures in the comments! See you next time.
This is your PSA that if the movie theater only has one showing of the thing you want to see, buy the ticket in advance. This brought to you by the one single viewing of Glass Onion at my local Alamo Drafthouse that was sold out after I had planned my whole day around it. Also, what is Netflix even doing with this release? Someone there can't do math.
My family's Christmas plans have changed for the better IMO. Instead of my mom, grandma, and mom's best friend (who I like fine but can't cope with in large doses) being in the area for a whole week, my mom and grandma are coming out by themselves just for a couple of days starting the day after Christmas. I am wrapping up a marathon month at work, so what this means for me is a nice long weekend to myself followed by two days only with people I want to see who will not be here long enough to make me wish they would leave. It's a perfect plan.
The first teaser trailer for Barbie is here and I already love it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDCOeQTxyo4
Emily P. Freeman’s mention in the Letter caught my attention because I have been quieted and calmed so much by her NEXT RIGHT THING book. I’ll check into her new App.
