🌮 Lil Treasures #208: Sweatpants and Taco Bell Sauce
We're talking seagulls, anxiety and so many cookies
Fancy meeting you here again! So glad you’re joining us this for week’s edition of Lil Treasures.
I am packing up and heading to Texas 💋 this weekend to celebrate the holidays with my extended family. We have a long journey ahead of us and I’m curious, how do you survive a long road trip with your posse? As for me and my house, we rely on our favorite babysitter (screens) and as much Chick Fil A as it takes to guide us to our destination.
I know there are experts in the field out there and I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this matter. What kind of pre-trip prep are you doing? Do you drive through the night? Are we doing snacks, family games or special stops? I’m here for all your tips and tricks if you’d be willing to share in the comments, and also welcome any holiday road trip stories. When my oldest was a baby, we got stuck in a snowstorm mid-blowout and I haven’t recovered since. I wanna hear it all - the good, the bad, and the ugly!
But for now, let’s do the treasures!
👨🏻 If you’ve ever experienced anxiety in your life, tell me you haven’t heard this exact phrase at some point in the struggle.
✨ Taylor Swift just won TIME magazine’s “Person of the Year”, and I like to think it is because not only did she absolutely kill it musically, she also gave us the opportunity to be embrace our most passionate, most glittery self. David Gate summed up this phenomenon beautifully in this Ode to Swifties.
🍞 My love for bread finally getting the love it deserves in this amazing print.
🐶 Is André 3000 a wholesome person and I’m just now discovering this fact? This thread definitely makes the case for it.
👖 I am all about the latest trend of comfy-cute wear, and have recently been looking to expand my leisure wardrobe with some new sweatpants like these from Aerie. Unfortunately this trend doesn’t love with the same affection as this is also the case for me.
🎄 Grab a glass of eggnog and buckle up for a good ‘ol Christmasy time on this week’s episode of Faith Adjacent! We polled the audience for some of the best Christmas Confessions and even added a few confessions of our own for this episode packed to the brim with Christmas cheer. You can listen here or wherever you get your pods!
🧛 Olivia Rodrigo just performed a NPR Tiny Desk concert and if you want a little dose of sparkly angst for your Friday, give it a listen!
🍊 The lovely Shelby Livingston graced us with her beautiful words and a fun lil recipe this week over on The Swipe Up+ as she wrote about the gifts of citrus and medication. Shelby is also currently in the running to be The Greatest Baker so let’s help her get her there by voting at this link!
If you want to read Shelby’s post or any of the other content and are looking for a gift to buy yourself for Christmas this year, do consider a lil plunge behind the paywall for the holidays! It’s only $6 a month which is less than your usual stocking stuffers.
😇 Angels are very popular this time of year which makes me wonder what it would be like to go on a date with an angel.
🍪 Half Baked Harvest posts are my clickbait (as you know by now) and this week I saved these two important cookie recipes for you: this one for Gingerbread Latte Cookies and this one for Vanilla Hot Chocolate Molten Cookies. Bon appétit my darlings!
My favorite memes from this week:
And with that, we shall close out this week’s newsletter. Hope your weekend is filled with magical moments and lots of little treats. Can’t wait to read all your treasures and stories on my trip!
So this comment is about two weeks to late and while you head west, we head north. Our standard stop has been the Hawaiian Brothers and Costco in Fort Worth to fuel up! Gas for the truck and food for the humans. We have now added a third stop for Cake Shakes at Portillo’s. It is our best and longest stop along the way!
pipe cleaners are awesome in the car, drive through the first night, and fruit whenever you can
