🧈 Lil Treasures #211: Prophesies, Resolutions and Table Side Butter Service
We're talking cat cafés and The Eras Tour: Elliot's version
Happy 2024, friends! 🪩
I spent most of my breaking binging The Bear and I have MANY FEELINGS about it.
I feel very deeply connected to Carmy now and want to make sure that man is always loved and supported. Should I take care of him? How I am supposed to just move on with my life?
My worlds collided when I read that Jeremy Allen White and his insane blue eyes hadn’t seen High School Musical and first of all, I too would also like to watch it holding hands with Zac Efron. Secondly, I’m very invested in this HSM journey for Jeremy because I feel like it could really help him get his priorities straight.
Anyway, I’d love to hear about what you did during your holiday break! Give me all the deets, shows you binged, your favorite gifts, etc.
Okay, let’s open up that treasure trove!
This week’s treasures:
🔮 We cracked open the new year with some 2024 prophecies over on Faith Adjacent this week! We discussed our hopes and predictions for the year ahead and even threw around the potential of a purity culture rebirth. Dust off your purity rings and test out your own predictions on the newest episode!
🐈 I don’t always watch the NYC ball-drop situation on because I like to spend the last few minutes of the year cozied up in my bed, but I lost it during the live broadcast when they showed John Mayer at a cat café in Tokyo. Also, can someone confirm that cat cafés are a thing?
🧈 I’m pretty sure this table side butter service is now my heart’s biggest desire.
💨 We’re one week deep into January, and I think I’m going to pass on the resolutions for now. In the wise words of David Gate, it’s not the month for new things.
😨 Benjamin Cremer is a pastor who I have really enjoyed following recently. He writes a newsletter called Into the Gray where he tackles a myriad of topics, like this one on Satanic panic in the Christian world. Go give it a read!
📷 Deeply fascinated by and emotional about this photographer who edited himself into his childhood photos.
🎾 If you are a pickleballer like myself, you might enjoy this video of Marshawn Lynch trying out our beloved sport.
🔎 As a parent, it can be difficult to gauge “success”, particularly when it comes to conversations about faith. If you find yourself trying to measure this, Meredith Anne Miller gives us 6 clues you’re on the right track.
💘 Guys, it’s almost time for the 4th Annual Lil Swipes Palentine’s Gift Exchange! Organized every year by our dear Jillian Nightingale, this gift exchange honors the very important Galentine’s Day, which is celebrated every year on February 13th. If you want to swap some fun gifts with your fellow Lil Swipes and celebrate everything good about friendship (I’m doing it!), you have until January 26th to sign up to participate!
🦋 This little nugget knowing every single lyric to Taylor Swift was completely adorable. Show me a better Swiftie, I’ll wait.
Memes for days
That’s all for today, ladies and gents! If you’ve been waiting for your chance to explore the comments section, this first newsletter of 2024 is a great time to take the plunge! Love you, mean it.
I, too, binged The Bear and am now patiently (not so) waiting for the next season. I am very invested in what happens next for all of them, but particularly Carm and Sidney.
Great Cat Cafe in Denver (www.denvercatco.com) that my daughter loves to visit! All of their cats are rescued from kill shelters and they offer them for adoption. They find so many cats homes! But we told our friends about it and they call it a “cat brothel” because you have to pay to go visit the cats, but you can also take one home with you. 🤣
