⛸️ Figure skating, Macaroni Rascals + the return of the green jacket:Lil Treasures #313
We're talking Bradford the dog + hopeful historical events
Welcome to another edition of Lil Treasures, a collection of some of the internet’s finest goods, curated especially for you.
Let’s get to it, shall we?
🐕 Should you ever be in the predicament where you are dropping off your kid late to school (not that this ever occurs in my house), here are some fun new excuses to write down when you sign those slackers in.
🧥 Ladies and gentlemen, THE green jacket is coming back in style and I think we should all take a collective moment to reflect and rejoice.
🌿 Hey hey, Lent begins next week! If you’re a liturgical guy or gal, I’d love to hear your plans for reflection (got any good book recs?) and for what you plan to fast/feast from this year.
I have a few Lent-specific studies in the online store if you need a last-minute digital guide for your Lent season this year! (also please use code LILSWIPES for that lil 20% off discount)
🎹 Bradford the dog vibing hard to the piano is officially one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen.
🤱🏻My friend Elizabeth Berget lives in Minneapolis and has been a huge advocate for her community, helping provide ways that people from across the country can support and meet some needs of the people there. Here’s the most recent list of ways you can help this week! Something that’s super important right now is helping moms and their babies in the area who are missing their prenatal or pediatrician appointments out of fear, and even having unexpected home births (especially in cases when they might need the extra intervention that a hospital would provide). I truly cannot imagine being in that predicament. Here is a local clinic that is helping meet some of those needs that you can give to today.
🙏 It’s Favored or Forsaken week on Faith Adjacent! Help us decide if you think things like James Dobson in the Epstein files, Mike Johnson correcting the Pope and prayer rings are favored or forsaken. Cue up the episode here at this link!
❗These words from Tiffany Bluhm feel especially important after watching the disaster that was the testimonies about the Epstein files earlier this week.
📕 Friends in Birmingham: come see me and Meredith Miller at her book launch event at Little Professor on March 4th! Meredith’s new book, Wonder: 52 Conversations to Help Kids Fall in Love With Scripture, comes out the day before this event and I am so honored to get to M.C. the launch party to celebrate. Come meet Meredith in person, get yourself a copy of the book, and even have the opportunity to assemble a fun “Wonder Kit” while you’re there. You can get your tickets at this link!
🎀 If you’re an American Girl enthusiast, I need to know your thoughts on the new adult version of a Samantha novel coming out later this year.
🥹 I was so sad to see the news that James Van Der Beek passed away this week after his struggle with colorectal cancer. On his birthday last year, James posted this video and I cannot stop thinking about his reflective words.
Alrighty folks, that’ll do it for the newsletter this week. I hope your weekend is filled with lovely things and lovely things only. Be sure to stop by the comments before you go! See you next time!

Happy Friday!
This is my yearly reminder that you can make fondue for Valentine's Day. For your family, for your partner, or JUST FOR YOU. And you don't need a fancy fondue pot to do it.

I wish everyone the amount of chocolate and cheese they need right now.
Happy Galentine’s day! I’m off work today getting ready for a quick getaway weekend with my other half. Yesterday was my last day in a job that just never felt right. Next week I’ll be going back to my old team, but in a new role and I’m pretty excited.
Also, we will be doing IUI next week. Why not just do all the big life changes at one time, lol! The success rate for people our age is 10%, so we are riding a fine line of being hopeful and realistic. If you can say a prayer for us we would greatly appreciate it!
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend 🩷🩷🩷
