One of my summer goals is to Wear The Gosh Darn Bathing Suit. I've collected a couple of cute vintage style bathing suits that (gasp!) show my belly. As a purity culture/modesty culture survivor, this feels like a big deal. It also means that I don't feel comfortable wearing these (tasteful, cute, nowhere near bikini territory) suits on beach days with family or friends who still put a t-shirt over their one piece to walk to the bathroom at the beach. So I'm determined to either go to the beach on my own and wear the cute suit, or go with friends who will celebrate the suit with me.

Happy summer! My goal this summer is to have a couple of weekend days a month where there is nothing scheduled. At all. Like nothing. Not even, "fold the clothes."

We kicked off summer with a stay in the hospital the last week of school. My poor husband had been sick for a month with a cough/cold. Woke me up and couldn’t breathe because he was having an asthma attack. Off to the ER we go and he ended up being admitted for 2 days! They had to get his pulse ox level back up. We got home just one time for school to get out for the summer. So, needless to say, if you start to feel sick, go to the doctor immediately and don’t wait around. We sold our Dave Matthews Band tickets for Memorial Day because he needed to rest and spent a lovely 4 days at the beach doing absolutely nothing! He’s all better now and I thank God it was not something more serious.

Anywho, our kids have a better summer than we do 😆 and are currently living their best lives in Costa Rica with my parents.

I have made this 3-4 times and it never misses. It's so good, it freezes well, and it makes me feel like I can cook (my skills are mediocre at best).

That music video of Pedro Pascal came out right before a photo shoot I was producing and shooting and I was really nervous. So when I had to go do stuff I was scared of, I’d whisper “You’re perfect, now work it” and it totally worked! 😂😂 “Thanks, Pedro! I *will* work it!”

"favorite row on the multiplication table" has the same energy as inedible things you wish were edible, tbh

(but mine was also 9)

My colleague yesterday told me that he and friends are having art nights where they get together and bring crafts or something they're working on. All while catching up, enjoying tea, a beer, etc. I'm inspired and want to try this, sharing in case others feel the same.
