🧑🎄 Stocking Stuffers for the Lady of the House
No longer will we allow a magic maker's stocking to lie limp + empty.
Stockings are my favorite part of the Christmas-giving spectacle. I know it’s better to give than to receive, and I do love smugly sitting on the couch, wrapped up in my robe while drinking my coffee and watching my children dig through their stockings, delighting at the perfect stocking stuffers. And Gwen always makes sure I get a stocking when I am home for Christmas. But it’s been a while since I’ve had a stocking in my own house.
That changes this year, even if I have to do it my own self.
But let’s have some caveats.
First, the Lady of the House can be anyone, obviously, but for the most part, I’ve found it’s the women. They may be the moms, the aunts, the grandmothers, the nieces, the sisters, whoever. But it’s usually the ladies. No offense to my guys up in here, and I know some of you are the magic makers for your home. To you, I doff my cap. But if that’s the case, you’re already filling a stocking for your lady or partner, so this is moot anyway, other than to give you ideas. The Lady of the House doesn’t have to be married, she doesn’t have to have kids, she doesn’t even have to have a house. She just has to be the one who usually doesn’t get a stocking filled.
Second, a stocking stuffer has to meet certain criteria.
It needs to fit inside a normal stocking.
It needs to serve some sort of practical purpose, but with a fun bent.
It needs to be under $20 (who is putting AirpodPros in a stocking that is Big Gift Energy).
If you are like me and just want some fun things to pull out of a stocking this year, forward this email to your partner or your parent or your sibling or just go to town for yourself. Nothing wrong with filling up that fancy sock on your own. Let’s git.
