🩹🗳⛑ A Very Crowdsourced Election First Aid Kit
Because we all love a spreadsheet full of good things.
Hello, pals.
We have a big day ahead of us! A few of you loved the “Election Day First Aid Kit” in the newsletter this past Friday, so I wanted to give you easy access to a few more self-care tools. You were all so wonderful to post some of your excellent suggestions in the comments, so I compiled them all here so you can access them when you feel sad and need a warm hug or some braised short ribs.
Feel free to add your own suggestions and share with your people.
I had something really thought-provoking shared with me yesterday for all the believer’s here (but I think it applies to all of us who desire to love our neighbors well after the election is over). Big thanks to Will Freyschlag (@freshsnacks) for allowing me to share his words.
Also: a reminder that you can be disappointed or elated, but no matter who wins the election tomorrow, there’s ultimately still work to do.
Okay hitting this charcuterie board for the rest of the day. Honored to go through this day with you all, no matter who you bubble in.
❤️ - Erin
My oldest child is making dinner tonight! I will eat it and then pour a whisky and keep praying for all the things.
I've already teared up multiple times today, simply because of the hope of it all.
🎶 Still Wonderful by Johnnyswim continues to be a light. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dlQt5nEMqM I don't know if I'll ever be over the line "hurt and hope, watch as I carry both"
🎶 This Land is Your Land by Woody Guthrie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AePCvFrggZM or the cover by the Avett Brothers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z3efR2Fu18
I'm debating putting up my Christmas tree while watching Hamilton this afternoon - it just feels right. Sarah and Beth from PantsuitPolitics are on HotMic tonight, if that is something you're interested in.
