🍋 Lil Treasures #112: The Beyonce Standard Version (BST) and Screaming Moms
Plus what your favorite youth group song says about you now
Hi everyone! It is once again Friday and I’m so glad it’s here, to be honest. I feel as if there’s not enough caffeine in the world to keep this engine running.
Without further adieu, here are this week’s treasures:
🗽 If you’re familiar at all with Jerry Falwell Jr (former President of Liberty University) and have followed the crumbling of his reputation, you’ll enjoy this article in Vanity Fair.
📱 I feel so seen in this poem by David Gate.
🎸 My life growing up was saturated with a mixture of Caedmon’s Call and Point of Grace, and pretty much and and all CCM-adjacent music. So when I tell you I cackled while reading this article in Relevant magazine 😆. If you want to find out what your favorite band in youth group says about you now, please read it and then let us know what you got in the comments! And as always, if you want to inject a little bit of youth group nostalgia into your Friday, my playlist called A Spiritual Discography should do the trick!
☕Laughed real hard at this man running to spill the tea.
🤬 This article about a group of moms in Massachusetts who got together recently just to scream out their frustrations about Covid/schools/work/childcare/ quarantines/etc gave me a lil boost today. Also we need to get this going in Birmingham….
Let’s do the Tweets!
Pals, I truly hope you have a great weekend. Can’t wait to read about your treasures from this week in the comments! Xoxo.
The Relevant article? 100% a DCTalk fan and, yes, I'm still with Michael. Let's eat the rich.
Well guys, my dad has COVID so all solo weekending plans are out. I had scouted out a rooftop bar and an outdoor wine tasting as potentials (in addition to all of your great ideas!), but instead we will spend the weekend re-watching Encanto and whatever else my kids want as a consolation prize 😭 I also shattered my glass coffee carafe this afternoon, so tomorrow morning promises many joys. Send me those Ts and Ps.
