🛍️Lil Treasures #193: Grief Shopping and Medium Talk
We're talking Jane Austen and light up sneakers
Happy Pumpkin Spice week, pals! 🎃
If fall flavors are not your thing, you are still welcome here. You do you, boo. But I am as basic as they come, and will be embracing this PSL szn with arms wide open (iced drinks only though until we get out of the triple digits, I’m not a maniac).
Now that we’re all caffeinated, let’s take a journey through this week’s treasures!
Your treasures, my liege:
🫶Stumbled across this beautiful post about love and connection and I’m keeping it close as a reminder this week.
🛍️ Sister Beth's post this week about grief shopping (and the inevitable post-grief returning) was absolutely relatable. I have done my fair share of grief shopping, have you? Let me know what store you frequent/what you buy when you are in a similar place…
📖This week on Faith Adjacent (still getting used to that name change), we hosted a special I Kid You Not episode with Meredith Anne Miller all about the subject of family faith practices. This was one of my favorite episodes we’ve done so far, delving into topics like family devotionals, and what to do if your kids are praying about weird things. We also took some time and celebrated Meredith’s new book, Woven, which is now officially available to purchase! You can get your copy at this link or wherever you like to buy your books. If you’re a parent and trying to figure out faith practices within your own family, this episode (and the book!) can help you feel supported in your journey.
👟Apparently this is from the old ages(2016) but I’m just now stumbling upon it’s goodness: it's a video of a dad who finally received from light-up sneakers and it has sent my dopamine into overdrive.
🧶In case you missed it, we’re taking the dis/entangle study for it’s final spin this fall in The Swipe Up+! Have you signed up yet? If you’ve been on the fence and want a lil taste of what’s to come, here’s an excerpt from Day 1 of the study:
Our first week walking through this study will focus on getting it all out on the table for you: doubts, fears, questions, frustrations, anger, and grief. We will work through naming and investigating with our Biblical model: David. Before we can begin to break down our faith, we need to survey the building, being honest with ourselves and God.
One way we can do that is through the concept of biblical lament.
Lament is a revelation. What is not grieved cannot heal.
We’ll get things rolling with the study starting the second week of September, but you’ll need to sign up to be in The Swipe Up+ if you’re not already a member in order to receive the extra content. I hope you’ll be a part!
Interested but it’s not in the budget at this time? We saved a spot just for you, just send me an email at hello@erinhmoon.com!
⚔️If this kind of meeting happened on my street I would be 0% surprised.
☁️It might be blazing hot, but I’m already looking ahead to secure my fall + winter comfies, and just ordered this pair of pajama joggers from Gap. You know those baby clothes that feel so soft and silky? THESE ARE THE SAME MATERIAL. So if you want your legs to feel soft and swaddled, do yourself a favor and secure this pair of pantalones!
Let’s dig in to the tweets:
And this very important and relatable thread:
Wellllll, that about does it! Hope this week’s newsletter brought you immense joy, my friends. Enjoy your weekend for me, and I’ll see you here again next week!
I had a very expensive summer last year brought on by divorce grief!
Hello, friends. This week has been hard. I have been sick for two weeks and it has brought up a lot of trauma from past sicknesses. I've been trying to be kind to myself and take my time to rest, but in this Western world of "go, go, go" it is downright difficult. Good thoughts, prayers, vibes would be greatly appreciated as I heal again. I was able to keep an eye out for treasures however, and here are a few of them!
-A shower chair. I kid you not, this has been one of the best purchases for some intense shower anxiety. It makes me feel so much more independent and secure.
-Instagram and IRL friends who make this journey that much more sacred and bearable.
-Dresses! My favorite buys from Target are from August Sky and Hope and Henry.
-Listening to The Humanity Archive by Jermaine Fowler with my dad and the conversations that we have after reading.
Thank you all for being a safe space. Love you!
