🏀 Lil Treasures #223: March Madness and Barbecue Tank Tops
We're talking the solar eclipse, saxophone solos and 10 Things I Hate About You
Well hello!
I have returned from my cross-continental adventure one year older, slightly jet-lagged and with a belly full of the best pastries in this world. It was the loveliest trip, and I’m so glad I got to experience visiting London and Paris with my oldest daughter and my Mom! The icing on the cake would have been my middle daughter being there with us to complete our girl gang, so we’ll just have to plan another trip in a few years.
Re-entry to normalcy this week has been tough, but I’m trying to trick myself into thinking it will get easier every day and that helps. This is essentially me to me, always:
We took a break from the treasures last week in my absence, but I saved the goods just for you. Let’s get to it!
The long-awaited treasures:
👂 Before we begin, please know my feed has been infiltrated with lots of happy and kind content, and I am unapologetically going to share some of this goodness with you. Like in the case of this grandpa who got a cochlear tattoo to match his grandson’s implant. Just the most tenderoni thing!
👙 Ladies, as we prepare for the summer months ahead, make sure to read this thread in preparation. No barbecue tank tops!! Don’t even think about it!
🌒 We’re discovering which topics are Favored or Forsaken on this week’s episode of Faith Adjacent! This conversation contains multitudes, spanning from the solar eclipse to what’s going on with IVF, and even debating who might be potential candidates for the Pope’s official exorcist. Listen to the episode here or on your favorite podcast platform!
✨ I peed my pants a little laughing at this guy reading ACOTAR in the voice of Kronk.
🎷 What I would have given to be a passenger on the train ride with this music teacher who went ham on the saxophone.
🎧 If I want to instantly put myself in a good mood, I turn to my trusty throwback jams to do the job. I’m talking Destiny’s Child, Paramore, a little CCM if I’m feeling it. And as if I needed a reason to continue this habit, it turns out that listening to the music of our youth is also therapist-approved. Let me know your go-to songs from your teenage years that make YOU happy!
👑 The film Princess Diaries came out almost 23 years ago (!) and this clip of Anne Hathaway watching herself in the movie now was really special to see.
😎 I take my role as the oldest daughter very seriously.
🏫 I felt every emotion of this girl from Sweden who got to visit the set of High School Musical.
💗 May this round-up of wholesome content be like a lil hug from the internet.
Okay let’s do the memes!
Blessings to you and yours for the weekend, my darlings! See you in the comments!
“I love your smile” by Shanice is one of my favorite throwbacks. Takes me right back to dancing in my friends bedroom when we would hear it on the radio! 😆
Okay! 3" of rain, a flooded basement, a vet appointment, and a sick cat later, thank God it is the weekend. I do have some treasures to share that I'll post links to below. Looking forward to catching up with you all in the comments!
Reading: Search by Michelle Huneven. This book is a delightful combination of Anne of Green Gables and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Trust me. It works. :)
Watching: Garden/nature reels on IG. Three of my favorites this week @foraged.by.fern @inthecottagegarden @marfskitchengarden
Listening: I have been meditating in the morning with the Calm app and the Saying Yes to Life meditation is lovely.
Making: I am onto the third and final square of the knitted IA State scarf/prayer shawl that I am making. I am also sewing my first quilt. The creativity keeps me sane. <3
Have the best weekend available to you everyone!
