Wondering…for a friend…if you have shared deets on the gummies that you and Jamie enjoy and refer to with some regularity. Sounds like you have put the work in to determine the optimal type? Strain? Brand? However these things are qualified. Any info would be helpful for the gummy curious.

I know some people are ready to move on from eclipse content (I’m not one of them), but indulge this science teacher reuniting with students from 1978. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5l9FKEPqO9/?igsh=MXB6ZWJ0MHl0bzk2aA==

My aunt asked me last week if we still played Wordle and I promptly went and bought myself an NYT subscription. Best $4.00 that I ever spent!

Important updates are as follows:

-My fiance has only this month left of PT appointments and then he should be good to go!

-The basement flooding situation is righting itself slowly but surely (I rescued a ponytail plant that had gotten stuck under a yoga mat in the mess and felt very proud of myself.).

-The cat is getting better! He has big feelings about taking medication through an oral syringe but he is rebounding marvelously. He has a renewed passion for food and his breathing sounds much much much more clear. I have such appreciation for my vet!

Onto Treasures!:

Reading- Beyond Ethnic Loneliness by Prasanta Verma. If you or anyone you know is a social worker, counselor, or teacher, I highly recommend this book. Prasanta's research is exquisite and her writing is delightfully visceral.

Watching- The solar eclipse! I wasn't planning on it but I happened to turn on the TV and came across Watch Across America. Watching the eclipse advance through the path of totality was such a beautiful experience. It got chillier here and my tulips closed up like they do at night, only to reopen a few hours later. I was not prepared for the emotions, y'all.

Listening- The Vigilantes podcast by Sharon McMahon. The number of jaw drops that I have had during this docuseries cannot be counted.

That's it for me! Have the best weekend available to you, lovelies and I look forward to catching up with y'all in the comments!

After many trials and tribulations, your girl is a homeowner! And very stressed out! I'm doing the same thing I do every time I move despite promising myself that this time it will be different, which is to wait until the last possible moment to pack/organize/clean and then frantically try to figure out how to get it all done before the movers get here at 9:00 on Tuesday. Also I haven't done my taxes.

Because of the above, my brain is demanding to be fed period pieces, so I am taking suggestions. I just rewatched Pride/Prejudice and Sense/Sensibility. Currently on my watchlist are Mansfield Park, Love and Friendship, and Persuasion (2008). Many people are Jane Eyre People, I am not one of them. Good Agatha Christie adaptations or similar also accepted.

As a therapist doorknob introductions are my fav, please let’s get straight to the tea! I love therapy memes so much, I am currently not seeing clients after losing my husband a few months ago and so I love them even more currently because I 1) really need a laugh and 2) love having brief moments thinking of my clients who would usually send me the meme during “normal times”, my clients love to send me memes and TikTok’s

I don't often come in here to read and comment, but I needed a little community today. Feeling super disconnected and I love this newsletter so much. My sister and I send screen shots of things that make us laugh. Thank you Erin!

Being a babysitter in my teens and well into my 20s (thanks to my Education degree, every assumed I loved all ages of kids, I do, but middle schoolers are my jam). I loved being able to experience other families and get a peak into how they did life. Also, it funded all the coffee I bought during grad school!

One of my favorite stories: The dad had been out of town all week, mom wanted to go to girls night, and needed one night where she didn't have to do bed time routine with 2 little girls. She came home a little tipsy and paid me waaaay too much money. Later in life, I realize that having a babysitter was worth the money for her!

Also, my favorite word game is Scattergories, but no one lights to play with me!

NYTimes and Monopoly Go have consumed my mornings since January, and I’m not mad. Strands, though, can ruin a girl’s confidence. I’ve given up making sense of Connections. 😞

This is me with my sisters these days: “l'm coming from a place of love. but I am power walking to a place of sudden violence.” The sisters are always challenging on an emotional level, but a few weeks ago they rose to a new tier of inflicted chaos, bringing other people into their orbit of insanity. Details don’t matter, it’s just that I’m fed up to high heaven with my sisters’ repeated offenses and refusal to admit fault or adjust their own behaviors. I’ve had to block one of them from my phone, and even my mom has stopped taking calls. 🤪 Power walking to violence is the current VIBE. Y’all better pray for me! There’s a reason Jenny T named them Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. 🤪

Rant over. This week I’ve been exploring Building a Second Brain, trying to corral all the inputs. I’ve got high hopes!

👶🏼 Babysitting as a tween/teen was a delight. My favorite family to babysit for always took me to our local video rental establishment and let me pick out a movie for after the kids were in bed. This is how I discovered Swing Kids and thus my Christian Bale era was born.

📚 I am in a fiction slump and have been reading all the memoirs to fill the void. I just finished Kate Bowler’s Everything Happens for a Reason; am about to finish Beth Moore’s All My Knotted Up Life; and have started Mike Cosper’s Land of My Sojourn. Next on the docket: two memoirs about Northern Ireland in the 90s. It’s fine…

🎵 Kayla Craig @liturgiesforparents is the queen of seasonal playlists and her Spring one is perfection. I just discovered this song via her playlist https://open.spotify.com/track/0TmYlHDVP4gUTkUbl7AIsv?si=7gNNNSATTPqDQGHg6lzKmw and it left me in a puddle on the floor in the best way.

🎧 Put the Faith Adjacent Thunderdome in my veins! Regular and Spicy were a hoot! Jars of Clay and SCC 4Evah.

👖🩳 It’s going to be in the 80s here this week and I am not ready. Anyone got favorite shorts or capris (yes, capris. I like what I like.)?

May the sun be high and the pollen count low. ❤️

🚪 I feel like I neither do doorknob confessions nor introductions. However, for those of you who’ve ever watched How I Met Your Mother, I sure as crap feel like Ted Mosby with his weird little stories where often, the end and/or moral of the story is often NOT what you think it’ll be. Thankfully, yesterday’s session was pretty typical and there were no weird twists. There’s always next week though bahahaha.

🤍 Speaking of Fleetwood Mac, Maggie Rogers’ new album just came out and it VERY much gives Rumours type yacht rock vibies, with a heap of Tears for Fears. It’s fantastic.

🥳 My self care routine tonight is celebrating the one year anniversary of me going to the Eras tour by watching the concert special in the comfort of my air conditioned home.

🩷 Thank you Erin for these amazing links, I’ve got it bookmarked!

🥹 Have the best weekend available!

Speaking of NYTimes games, anyone else playing the new one called Strands? It’s still in beta testing so you have to type it in your browser, but I’m digging it!
