Happy Pride Month! 🌈✨ At church service this past Sunday, my pastor talked about leaning into community and specifically mentioned Pride Month and loving our LBGTQ communities. He also confirmed that we are an open and affirming church, and all are welcomed, affirmed and celebrated here. I heard some gasps, but I was so proud of him and being a part of my new church! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Loved today’s Lil Treasures - it was extra good! 🤩 Embracing my old lady pill era while I drink my coffee and empty Friday a.m. from my 3-Times-A-Day, 7 Day Pill Organizer. First day of summer break, and I think my kids will get so much screen-time today — this mom is TIRED (but happy)! 🥱😊
This was a really good one. 😆 I have not been to a cat funeral, but I was running my dogs once and saw a full-blown dog birthday party happening in the small dog park. Decorations, tablecloths and matching plates and cups, snacks and cake (one for dogs and one for humans), toys party favors, a background wall and props for photos. Their dog had turned 1 and they invited all their dog park friends. It was wild and adorable.
I recently started taking a new medication (trying to fight those physical symptoms of grief sleep, appetite, anxiety) and the doctor said “not to make light of it but the best way to explain is this is the pill I give to little old ladies that need a little more sleep and to eat more, and it should also help with the anxiety” and I replied “I feel like a little old lady”
Speaking of my grief I shared a few months ago in the comments that my sweet husband had died by suicide on New Year’s Eve, today is both his birthday and my son’s 4th birthday! So today is a great treasure but also a little bit of a turd.
Whitney. I think I must have missed when you first shared this but I am so sorry for your loss. This is a big day. I hope you sense a lot of peace and comfort today. And a lot of love. I also hope the little old lady pills do their job. Much tenderness to you today and all days. ❤️
So many great treasures!! I laughed so hard at vacation babe - both dualities definitely exist within me. 🧜♀️ The outfit video made my jaw drop and sent me down a nostalgia journey of the type of hipster dude I was attracted to in 2005.
We’re heading into our second weekend of summer vacation and I haven’t wanted to throw my 9 year old out the window yet, so that feels like a success! We’re taking a mommy daughter trip to visit my bestie and her family in Pittsburgh next week. ❤️
I also remembered after writing this that my college housemates once held a burial service for their dead goldfish, William. I attended and it was mostly in jest, but also very earnest.
