🤪 Lil Treasures #255: Wayfair, Jonathan Bailey's Horse, + No Knowledge November
Plus, a resource to help you get prepped for those awkward holiday conversations!
Hello and welcome to another Friday newsletter!
Hi friends. I walked through the meme meadows of the internet and found some treasures for you. Shall we dive in?
It’s a good day for some good world wide webby things
📞 As we slowly make our way towards the holidays (Lord, let it be slow), Brit Barron has truly blessed us with a book I think we all need as we prepare to be around family who we may not always align with in the coming weeks (that reality can look especially daunting during these post-election days). If you’re feeling stressed this year, you can order her new book Do You Still Talk to Grandma: When the Problematic People In Our Lives are the Ones We Love and discover how to remain connected to the people you love even amid deep disagreement. And find out more about the inspiration behind her book in this recent post!
🐎 A moment for Jonathan Bailey and his favorite horse, who he loved so much from the set of Bridgerton that he insisted on using the same one in Wicked.
🛋️ If you loved last week’s Faith Adjacent episode on Christians and Conspiracy Theories, part 2 is now out and ready for your listening ears! We’re hitting on controversial conspiracies centered around Smurfs, Wayfair furniture, Big Pharma, Elvis and more. Listen to the episode here or wherever you access your pods!
📓 I’ve been searching for a good companion to my planner because I’ll admit it, I am a sucker for efficiency. I audibly gasped when I heard about the new seasonal Playbooks by The Lazy Genius! These notebooks (one for every season) help keep you organized while also allotting space for creativity and reflection. They start shipping out on November 22 so order yours now at this link!
🧀 Sydney Sweeney is now relatable to us mere mortals over her obsession with cheese. We love a charcutie-queen!
❤️🩹 This essay from Ben Cremer on how hope deferred makes the heart sick is an excellent read.
💚 If you are a former theater kid, don’t forget to take the opportunity in the next few weeks to really hammer down the premise of Wicked before it comes to theaters.
🌎 Needed these reminders from Danielle Balfour today.
🌱 Two things I wanted to share from the wonderful David Gate: one, this poem. Two: as we head into another season of (unfortunate) unprecedented times, there is still always joy to be found. You can get one of these stickers that David designed to help remind you of this fact!
Aaaaaand now for the memes:
I hope these treasures + turds filled up your bucket for the day. If not, head to the comments for some extra laughs + links! You’re doing amazing. Keep going.
as a Horse Girl™️, johnathon already had my heart under lock and key and since I learned he requested Jack, I haven’t known peace.
haven’t been here in a minute - swooping in while I lie awake in the middle of the night. my in laws are in town this weekend and i’m already dreading it lol. prepping to put up christmas this week because it brings me joy and like david taught us - joy is an act of rebellion.
The Kermit stuffie playing the role of baby Elphaba. 😂
Treasure time! 🌟
- I am obsessed with this stuff and have a cup of it every morning with flavored oat milk creamer: https://www.everydaydose.com/. I am very sensitive to caffeine, and this is both delicious and has helped with my ADHD symptoms almost as much as my meds. 🤯
- Got back into reading this month after a rut, and finished 2 books that I absolutely loved! Book 2 of The Penderwicks series, and The Housekeepers by Alex Hay. The latter was like Ocean’s Eleven meets Victorian England with maidservants who want to burn a family’s legacy to the ground. It was SO GOOD.
- I signed up for the paid Pantsuit Politics subscription on Nov. 6, and the morning update videos with Sarah have been saving my sanity. Getting my cabinet pick updates this way was an easy Decide Once (team LG ftw!) and I’m so thankful for her nuance and determination to be hopeful.
- A 2nd generation potted plant that came from one of my mom’s sprouted a new growth for the first time last week. 🌱 My mom died in 2023 and would not be happy with the election results, but the timing sure feels like a nudge from her to hold onto joy and hope. ❤️
Wishing everyone the coziest, calmest weekend available!
