🎅Lil Treasures #260: Jason Kelce Clause, Posting Less + Peppermint Tea
A few treasures to tie you over until the new year
Welcome to another week of internet treasures!
The countdown to Christmas is on (for those who celebrate) and I for one am more than ready to indulge in some holiday merriment.
The Swipe Up will be on a holiday break for the next two weeks, so do not be alarmed if you don’t see me popping in your inbox until January. When we come back after the holiday hiatus, I’ll have some fun book + launch team news to share with all of you! I can’t wait for that.
Let’s give it up for one more round of 2024 treasures!
🎁 Looking for a last-minute gift for the people you love? I highly recommend one of David Gate's hand-typed poem prints! I have “Doing the Laundry” proudly displayed in my house and it makes me feel things every time I read it. You can see David’s entire list of poems + prints at this link!
🎨 This video was one heck of a journey, and I was for sure not anticipating the final result.
📲 As an elder millennial, the internet and social media have been a big part of my life for the last 10-15 years. I’ve definitely felt the fatigue (especially recently) of feeling the pressure to engage or post on a regular basis. This is exactly what Anne Helen Petersen talked about in her recent essay on posting less.
🍭 Please enjoy this curation of Enneagram goodies to enjoy over the holiday break.
📆 2024 was….an experience? We’re recapping this year and sharing some of the best + worst moments on this week's episode of Faith Adjacent. Listen to find out if we deemed it favored or forsaken! Let me know your own thoughts and feelings (and highlights) of your year in the comments.
Let’s do the memes!
Don’t forget to do your pre-holiday treasure dump in the comments before you go. Have the most magical holiday week, my friends! See you in 2025!
As I listened to the latest Faith Adjacent, I thought, 2024 was the best of times and the worst of times. This is a phrase (h/t Dickens, obv) that in our house we usually reserve for when the time period of my husband’s military service comes up. Anyway, every time I’m tempted to call 2024 the worst year ever, I remind myself that my daughter graduated from college with an engineering degree and got a job she really likes. I don’t want to take that very, very good thing away from her. Treasures for the season: light, funny, closed-door The Mischief of the Mistletoe by Lauren Willig (don’t bother with the other books in the series, they are not funny and you don’t need to read them to enjoy this one); and of course Christmas in Connecticut, the 1945 movie, which I watched again last night and laughed so much.
My treasure is not having to travel for the holidays! My mom and 2 of my brothers are coming to Detroit which is super fun. The boys are staying at my house, which should be very fun.
