šŖ¼ Lil Treasures #262: Aquariums, Home Depot Hauls + The Fast and The Furious
It's the year of little glasses, and I'm not complaining one bit
Yay! Itās time for another week of internet treasures!
How are you, Lil Swipes? I hope if you got snow this past weekend, it was just enough to be magical, and your town was able to clear the roads so you could venture out to Target in a timely manner. We have come very invested in birds the last few years, and this video of cardinals in the snow made me cackle because itās so spot-on and I saw this play out in my yard last Friday (language warning for little ears!)
We continue to send prayers and advocate for our friends who are dealing with the fires in Los Angeles this week. For some ways you can still pitch in and help, make sure to check out last weekās newsletter (and the comments).
We love you, California friends! š«¶
Alright, letās get to the treasuresā¦.
š Weāre only 17 days in to 2025 and it has already been marked by a few different occasions of heartbreak and disaster. To help remind you of ways to cling to hope, go read this poem from David Gate (and even better, his most recent newsletter about the Fires of Change).
š Did you hear the news about pre-order bonuses for Iāve Got Questions? Folks, the word is out, and the bonuses are many. You can see the dirty deets about whatās included in your pre-order bonuses on the most recent post I shared on Instagram, and get your hands on your treats (if you pre-ordered the book) by entering your information here. Youāll need to have your order number ready, so make sure to have that handy before you fill out the form! If you havenāt ordered your copy yet, do not fret, beloveds! Just make sure to do so by the bookās release date (February 4th) to get your bonus treats.
šŖ Every slide here made me feel a little more brave.
š£ Donāt tell me that women are not amazing when we are always out here getting stuff done.
š½ It is hard for a book to move me to tears both from laughing and crying, but Mattie Jo Cowsertās book God, Sex and Rich People did just that. Mattie Jo Cowsert (you can find her on Instagram here) is a pastorās daughter who moved to NYC a few years ago, and this book is all about her honest experience on that journey. A ārecovering evangelical testimonyā if you will. Yāall, this book is both hilarious and cathartic for those of us who grew up evangelical, and is a true delight! You can learn more about the book AND order yourself a copy at either Barnes & Noble or Amazon here. If you want to meet Mattie Jo in person, check out her book tour! Hereās where sheāll be this winter:
January 30th - St. Louis - Left Bank Books 6-8pm
February 1st - Kansas City - Afterword Tavern & Shelves 1-3pm
February 6th - Kansas City - Monstera's Books 6:30-8pm
February 8th - Springfield, MO - Bedpost Books 6-8pm
February 9th - Fayetteville, AR - Pearl's Books 1-3pm
February 14th - Branson, MO - Mochas & Meows 5:30 -7:30pm
š© Where has this Home Depot haul been all my life? Move over, Sephora. This is millennial shopping at itsā finest.
š Itās time to answer some of lifeās important questions over on the new January Office Hours episode of Fatih Adjacent! Weāre tackling topics that vary from small group sizes to what the Fast and the Furious franchise has to do with the New Testament. Listen here or wherever you get your pods!
Some memes, as a treat! š¬
Now Iām wondering the psychology behind my choice (3)
Alrighty folks, we meet again at the end of another Friday newsletter. Thanks as always for reading, and Iāll see ya soon in the comments!

I had to get up and go look at our egg carton, lol. Iām a 2!
Erin, these treasures are just fantastic. I laughed so hard at the end of the cardinal video when he flew out of the tree. š Give me all the millennial dad Home Depot hauls!! Amazing.
I used for work for Habitat for Humanity and our CEO met President Carter on several builds throughout her tenure. She said he was truly the epitome of a public servant and such a lovely human. I donāt know much about his presidency, but he sure set an example on how to BE as a leader.
A treasure for me this week is that I started listening to Annie F. Downās Letās Read the Gospels series and itās been so spiritually nourishing. Iām Catholic and very rarely get to hear the Gospels read by women (only priests and deacons, both of which have to be men, can read them during Masses š), and listening to a woman read a more contemporary translation than Iām used to is really filling up my soul and giving me some new perspectives on familiar stories. ā¤ļø
Another treasure is that the sun is flippinā shining in mid-Michigan today and the temp is supposed to rise above 30 for the first time in weeks. āļøš
I'm a 3, sometimes 4, on the eggs. My mother was adamant you couldn't put all the eggs on one side of the carton.
By body always wants to be cozy in bed, especially because I have a heated mattress pad. I have been telling all my coworkers about it, bc we are headed into the single digits on Monday. It is truly the best thing.
