🥖Lil Treasures #269: Hope, Bread Bouquets + Banana Phones
I think screaming in my car could fix me
Hello and welcome to Friday 💖
The circumstances may be dire, but I am here to try my darnedest to give you a lil mix of fun internet goodies and important things to pay attention to. We are in the days of information (and rage!) overload, so remember to be kind to yourselves.
Anyway, let’s jump into those treasures!
💕 Boys will never understand the serotonin that happens during peak girlhood moments like this. I went to a Mom Prom event sponsored by the Amarillo Angels in TX last weekend, and got to dance so hard to Pink Pony Club and the Backstreet Boys and LET ME TELL YOU. Nothing compares.
✝️ It’s the first week of Lent! The season of reflection and penance kicked off two days ago on Ash Wednesday and will continue for the next 38 days until Easter (April 20th). My digital Lent studies are still available and it’s not too late to get started! Plus, don’t forget to use the code LILSWIPES for 20% off! There are three options to choose from focusing on different texts so you can choose your own adventure for 2025. As always, please send me an email at hello@erinhmoon.com if the price is not in your budget right now!
🥖 I never knew how much I needed a bread bouquet until I saw this man handing them out.
🏆 You might’ve watched The Oscars this past week and all that is good and fine, but I would like to cordially invite you to the newest awards show on the block, The Joshies! On this week’s episode of Faith Adjacent, joined by our guest host, Author of Modern Genre Theory Rev. Dr. Andrew Judd, we’re putting our own spin on things and giving awards to some of the top stories in the Bible. Listen here to hear the nominees!
🌈 It’s hard to find room to hope during these messy and frustrating times, but Emily P Freeman shared these words on anticipatory and participatory hope that act as a great reminder if you’re feeling stuck.
🇺🇦 I hope you got a chance to read this week’s guest post on Ukraine and the people who love it by my friend Jake Hughes. Here’s the link (free to all subscribers) to read and share!
☎️ Have you called your reps this week? There are um, a lot of issues to choose from right now, and the website/app 5 calls does a great job of compiling a list of the different issues, as well as your congressperson’s info, and even gives you a script if you need it.
💰 Benjamin Cremer compiled a few thoughts about Trump’s “golden Gaza” and the new budget plan that is well-worth your time to read. Please call your reps this week about the Medicare/Medicaid/etc cuts that will affect the lives of so many people!
❤️🩹 A solemn moment of hope happened this past week when even among all the destruction in Gaza, Palestinians made room for a large group iftar (a gathering of Muslims who break their fast together at sunset during Ramadan).
🧹 Would you like to Hack Your Cry today? Go watch this vide of a 4th grade class who surprised their school cleaning lady in the sweetest way.
⛷️ I could not be prouder of the fine folks in the ski town of Sugarbush, VT and their response to the VP trying to visit (scroll through the post to see the magic).
💼 I thoroughly enjoyed these words from Jedidiah Jenkins on how to think about work and committing to a life of mastery.
🚨 The documentary No Other Land won the Oscar this past week for best documentary film, even though it was not picked up in the U.S. The film highlights the horrible things happening in Palestine and asks for the world to pay attention. If you’re had a chance to watch this film, let me know in the comments!
🪢 This is one of those posts that you need to read, then read again, and save for later to continue reading again.
🇺🇸 Did you know the song This Land is Your Land was written as a response to the song “God Bless America” in 1944? Just a little fun fact for your Friday.

We have reached the close of this week’s newsletter, but do not fret - I’ll be back again next week! Until then, take care and please share your treasures in the comments.
I would’ve never known about what happened re JD Vance in VT without you. So so impressed.
Treasures! Ep. 280 of The Medieval Podcast hosted by Danièle Cybulskie, How to Live Like a Monk in Stressful Times. Danièle is always soothing to listen to, but she breaks from her usual historical deep-dives in this episode to address current events. Also, our snow is melting! I know we haven’t seen the last of it, but I have never been so happy to see mud in my life. In a burst of uncharacteristic optimism, I sowed sweet peas yesterday.
