π Procrastinating, vacations + mom's spaghetti: Lil Treasures #280
We're talking Wendell Berry's wisdom and a lesson on merging into traffic
Happy Friday!
We have officially finished school and all itsβ end-of-year ceremonies in the Moon home, thank you adult, wine-drinking Jesus. Maycember did truly try to tear me apart (some of it worked) but we have crossed over into the welcoming and non-structured arms of sweet summertime. Ts and Ps to everyone still in the throes of school or living that D/SINK life that doesn't require you to get up and start yelling at small people to find their shoes. We salute you.
If you have a few weeks left, I have little to offer but some happy internet treasures and my biggest faith in your ability to prevail. Youβll be lathered up and sitting by a pool with some smut in no time, little sparkle. Hang in there!
Onward to the treasures!
π€ I need to share this mashup because it is the new delight of my life.
π½οΈ Getting lost in your imagination or spending time daydreaming is not a bad thing. If you donβt believe me, go read David Gateβs new poem and be inspired to practice this more often!
π¦ΈπΌ Another day, another post I needed to share to remind you that having empathy is a superpower and not a sin. This one is from the brilliant Reverend Lizzie.
π« Fellow procrastinators: go watch this clip from Adam Grantβs interview on The Imperfects podcast where he talked about how procrastination can actually be good for creativity. Even if itβs not true, Iβm pretending it is.
π Still cannot believe I got to watch this man and this production in real life.
π₯ Itβs not everyday I get to talk to people as wonderful as Katherine Wolfe from the organization Hope Heals, but recently I had that gift! You can listen to our conversation all about deconstruction and burning things down over on the The Good Hard Story podcast.
βοΈ How do you know if your friends are travel worthy? Itβs a good question, one we tackled (plus many others) over on the newest Swipe Up+ essay called Vacation Guilt, FIBI + Traveling with Anxiety. Hit that button below to read it behind the paywall, or send me an email at hello@erinhmoon.com if itβs not in the budget right now!
π§ To be honest, I spiral out often about the lack of people in leadership who are actually making decisions for the good of actual humanity, especially in light of many recent events. Wendell Berry has my brain shifting the way I think about this in this poem.
π A brilliant person strung together 331 movie clips to recreate Eminemβs Lose Yourself and I am in awe. Here is the full masterpiece on Youtube if you want to check it out!
πΏ Weβre vetting a few of the Bibleβs best leaders on this weekβs episode of Biblical Leader Mount Rushmore! We couldnβt have done it without special guest Bethny Ricks (you can follow her here on Instagram) and her enchanting mixture of comedy and wisdom. Listen here or wherever you get your pods!
I hope this roundup of internet treasures kicks off your holiday weekend in the best way. Canβt wait to read your comments and see you back here again next week! Bye!
Happy Friday!
Just came on here to share that my love for this show has never wavered. But the fact that this trailer for Philly Justice exists has reconfirmed to me that Parks and Rec is the actual best.

I hope you have the Friday you need today!
Havenβt been in these comments for a hot minute but happy Friday, everyone! Today is the last academic day for 2 of my 3 kids (they still have Tuesday & Wednesday next week and I am sending them, thankyousomuchbye) and the last day of preschool for the 3rd π₯Ή Do I have teacher cards ready? NOPE. Will I get Walmart gift cards before afternoon preschool starts at noon? WHO KNOWS.
-Very much loving Amy Poehlerβs podcast Good Hang and Philly Justice cracked me up and warmed my heart. I live in Indiana and am convinced Parks & Rec is partially based on my hometown so I am all-in on a mini P&R reunion π΄π§
-I deleted IG off my phone and I hate it. I gotta find a better way to engage with it without spending all my time on it because it really does bring joy in these dark times. Any suggestions?
