Good morning and Happy Friday! Just a reminder that the newsletter is on a semi-sabbatical while Iâm working on a new project. Thank you all so much for your patience with me, and I hope you enjoy these treasures and tweets!
𦠠Iâve given in completely to the hobbies that come with getting older - tending to my plants, watching and identifying birds, etc. We have a lot of trees in our backyard so we have a lot of bird visitors, especially lately - and weâre always trying to figure out what they are before they fly away (specifically Ben - this is one of his many hobbies). ANYWAYS for the rest of you fellow nature lovers - thereâs this cute bird feeder that will notify you of any visiting âbird buddiesâ and takes a picture and organizes them into a digital bird scrapbook! It is the most adorable thing!
đ§Â I asked for some podcast recommendations on Instagram a few days ago and you guys totally delivered! If youâre headed out on a summer vacation road trip or need a good podcast for your commute, here are some suggestions from the wisest people on the internet (you, of course).

đ´ Hi, have you had trouble sleeping for the past, I donât know, 1.5 years like I have? The internet apparently knows I am sleep-deprived because I got sucked into an Instagram ad for this adult swaddle blanket. It might be too good to be true, but also I really want to be swaddled, so Iâm thinking it might be a great companion for my sleep hat.
đ¤ The We Got You Club spreadsheet is still going strong! Check it out if you have a need or if you can meet a need. One of the coolest things is to go back and see how needs are being met from total strangers!
Here are this weekâs Tweets:

This tweet (and the rest of the thread) where people rallied behind this intern and shared their own mistakes while on the job is the best thing!

Have a great weekend, friends! Iâll see you in the comments!
Happy Friday friends!
The biggest personal treasure happened this week with the birth of our daughter. Phoenix Dahlia (7 lbs 4 oz, 20.5 inches) was welcomed with love on June 23, 2021 by her parents, and big sister Penelopi Jayne.
Wednesday was a wild day. I went in for an induction around 3 AM (after waiting all the previous day for them to call me).
Not much was going on until late afternoon when they broke my water. I was definitely planning on an epidural but things happened so fast after the water breaking that there wasnât time for one. And so I ended up with a very unplanned, unmedicated birthđĽş. Letâs just say I will never hear Johnny Cashâs song âRing of Fireâ the same way ever againđ. Good news-Phoenix is healthy, I am recovering at home as of last night, and we are so grateful for a positive (albeit intense) outcome.
I wish I could share newborn cuddles with all of you. Much love!
Morning! Coming to you live from SUMMER BREAK. HALLELUJAH! đđźđđźđđźđđźđđźđđź
Yâall, we have had GORGEOUS weather for the last few weeks, which has been painful because Iâve been stuck at work and this only served to hype me up all the more about summer break. I want to do allll the outdoor activities: hiking, sitting beside the pool, going to the beach, walking through a park or along the lakeside trail, etc. So of course itâs only fitting that the first week of summer break is entirely rained out. đŠ
Treasures:
- I already completed one of my summer projects and made a recipe binder yesterday (@naptimekitchen has an entire highlight about it) and Iâm really excited! I think it will be something I can build in the coming years and pass down to my kiddos (if I ever have kids, ya feel me?). Either way, I think itâs going to be super useful!
- I bought an Instant Pot on Prime Day and managed to cook 2 frozen chicken breasts without blowing up my kitchen so Iâm feeling pretty confident. Please drop your favorite IP recipes below!
- I spent a good hour and a half walking around a book store in-person yesterday. For you Chicago folks: it was Open Books in the West Loop and they have both new and used books for SO CHEAP.
Thatâs all from me. Have a happy weekend, Swipes!
