Hello friends. We made it to Friday! Hope you enjoyed this short work week and are all thriving in your own way. Please throw up some T’s and P’s for me and my family this weekend as we *hopefully* move into our new house. Three Airbnb’s and two hotels later, and I think it’s finally happening.
I’m a sucker for nostalgia, and I think that’s one of the things I miss most about having a home - the familiarity of belonging somewhere. It’s always been fascinating to me that a home can have a feel and a smell that is reflected in the persons that inhabit it. Tell me something good/unique/special about your home in the comments!
Okay, let’s do some treasures!
🎃 One of the first items on my list after I move in to said new home is to take part in the therapeutic fall tradition that is Trader Joes Pumkin-Palooza. That’s right, party people - the fall items are on the dang shelves! I have decided this will be part of my Fall Opening Ceremonies, along with finding some more pampas grass to cut from the Walgreens parking lot. In my house, we are very partial to the pumpkin cinnamon rolls and spiced apple cider. Her royal highness The Pioneer Woman put together a list of the greats if you want to do some research before you go! Be blessed.
❤️ I’ve got high hopes for Brene Brown’s new book Atlas of the Heart, coming out this November. Brene’s book addresses the topics of meaningful connection, human experience and storytelling. You can pre-order it now in anticipation! Get here soon, November 30th.
🍳 PSA: the perfect phone case finally exists! Give me all the smiley, cheerful breakfast foods.
👨🏻 For all my fellow Ted Lasso fans - NPR does a weekly episode recap that is so lovely! [It’s especially great if you need your Roy Kent fix while you wait for a new episode to be released].
😭 On today’s “hack-your-cry” segment, read this story about how Simone Biles gave Suni Lee’s dad the sweetest gift. And if that won’t make you tear up, take a second and read this inspiring letter that Sam Grewe, a Paralympic athlete, received while in Tokyo. Just embrace the tears, friends. Let them fall.
📺 I was a teenager during Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial in the 90’s, and it is one of my first vivid memories of understanding that something was wrong with politics. I’ve been anticipating the release of Impeachment: American Crime Story and now it’s finally here. Episode 1 aired this past week and it looks so spicy, I can’t wait to watch! If you’ve seen it, let me know your thoughts in the comments.
🐶 This has Ben Moon written all over it:
And now for this week’s Twitter roundup:

Enjoy your Friday, friends! May your weekend be filled with crockpot dips and weather under 85 degrees. Looking forward to reading your treasures in the comments!
Hey y’all hey!
I missed y’all last week and a ton of F-word things have happened. We’ll hit the highlights.
🔥My Dad was hospitalized for sepsis following and endoscopy.
🔥My opioid addicted sister behaved in such a way that I jumped over my 9 wing and landed hard in 8 land. I have mentally punch her in the face so many times. Like Mohammad Ali I float like a 🦋 and sting likes a 🐝!
🔥Autumn bought her first car with her money last Friday. Then yesterday was rear ended and the other driver drove off.
Treasures:
🌴The three kids of mine that work at chick fil a all got raises this week.
🌴Morty the small dinosaur rat went to be with Jesus. All Gods people said “Amen!”
🌴Finally after months of waiting for my doctor to clear me. Wadding through some panic disorder stuffs. I was able to get my first vaccine. I treated myself to not one but two maple pecan cronuts! I would like to give the guy who gave me the shot a lesson on how to do a better job, like dude wham, bam, jam ya ma’am is not the best way to give a shot!
🌴My dad came home from the hospital last night. He does have 10 weeks of IV infusion to do through a PIC line but he’s home.
🌴I called dibs on spooning Megs in Chicago!
While I do want to sit in a pedicure chair and sob- I have schedule this- I have also seen how God has provided. How he has sustain us and given me more that I could ask for or deserve. Friends who listen, back up to my family and a space to lay my feelings. Altars come in different forms and places. I have experienced the laying my burdens down on my unlikely altars in the last two weeks. I remain grateful and He remains faithful.
Much love to my favorite internet gang in all the land!

Friends, today is the day! After 7 chaotic years as a high school ELA/FCS teacher it's my last day in the classroom. I'm so excited to make the move to the library, but I'm got to say goodbye to some sweet babies today which is bittersweet. One of my kids just brought me a pie that he and his sister made for me and told me that a group of current and former students are coming to eat lunch with me later. I LOVE high schoolers, they will roast you all day long but they are also the sweetest.
My treasure for the week is that I'm finally going to see Wicked in Charlotte tomorrow night. I bought season tickets fall of 2019 mostly to see Wicked and it's finally happening!!
