Cheering the EF shout out!! Y'all this year we have so many amazing speakers. Krista Tippett, Dr. Wil Gafney, Barbara Brown Taylor, Nadia Bolz-Weber, The Many as our worship artists... As mentioned above, even if you can't watch this weekend, you can watch later at your own pace or use it as your church's fall retreat (we have a group discount and premade guide!) or whatever works for you.
Give aways sound great! I love the idea of a Christmas gift swap but if Iām honest with myself I DO NOT need anything thing on my list for that time of year š¤Ŗš
Last weekend I went to TN to visit my BFF and we saw Switchfoot at the Ryman as part of their tour for The Beautiful Letdown 20th anniversary. Relient K (who I loved desperately in the early aughts but had never seen live) were the surprise special guests, and when I tell you I lost my mind. I went in expecting a good show and some fun times singing "Meant to Live" with my fellow aging Millennials, I came out with a lot of big feelings about my inner child and the communal power of music and Jon Foreman's great skill at bringing an audience together. If you can catch them on this tour, definitely recommend.
This week at work was absolutely insane, we're headed toward a 3-week stretch of severe understaffing, and I am so tired. Looking forward to spending the weekend at home, even though I have so much to do.
AND if you're not in the Minneapolis area, sign up for the virtual option of the Evolving Faith conference! I did it that way last year (which is how I discovered Erin!) and it is perfect. So many wonderful speakers, many new to me, who blew me away. You can do it as you have time - as long as you sign up for it, you can watch it anytime through the end of the year. I am not a paid endorser, LOL.
Whatās up yāall?! Back from the Mouse House ans āworking from homeā today. Which honestly means Iām still in my pajamas at 11 am and checking emails.
My 8 yr old also hates babies because and I quote:
āThey are always stealing your stuff.ā Fun fact, my 8 yr old is the baby of the family. š so in no way has he ever been in a situation where a baby would steal his stuff.
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend if deliciously cool fall temperatures, PSL everything (if thatās your jam), and overall coziness.
Iāll be eating aleve like itās candy and nursing my broken Disney body back to health which, letās me honest, was mess before I went to Disney. š¤£š¤£š¤£
My 3rd is turning 7 in a month and I am shaking my head, wondering how this happened. But my 4th is 2, so I have a little more cute toddler time...though this week, I am over the toddler-ness. š«
200!! Where does the time go? Some ideas to celebrate:
Thanks for the Connections link! I love games like this!
Treasures this week:
-cooler weather FINALLY
- Apple pie danish at my favorite local bakery
- Surrender by Bono on audiobook
- Happy Place by Emily Henry
- Only Murders season finale
- Welcome to Wrexham being back
- my husband and I having the sex talk with our 9 year old and watching him dry heave at the thought of it (girls and kissing are super gross right now. But he asked...) š
Y'all I am hanging on my a thread today. PTL for nature valley almond butter biscuits because having this as my daily snack a joy. Things are chaotic at work and at home, it'll all work out but I'm just tired. Staying in the house this week was fun but also showed me some more things that need to be in the project list. We're bringing the last of my belongings to the house tomorrow which includes my bed! 4 nights on air mattress in a strange place is too much.
200 posts, how exciting! I'm a lover of lil pressies so I'm here for a gift exchange or give away.
Yes, it's hard when babies grow up but as a mom-of-a-certain-age, I can tell you that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE hanging out with my 3 adult daughters. Let's have tacos and order fancy drinks and talk about how cute the bartender is - yes, please! Our middle one is coming home from college today for fall break, and that scenario will 100% play out sometime this weekend. So while I can't stop baby Cy from rudely growing up, I can tell you that glorious days are still ahead for you as a mom.
And thanks for turning me on to Connections - that type of game is RIGHT up my alley! Love it. You are the absolute best, Miss Erin H. Moon.
Happy birthday not-baby Cy! ššš I have a love/hate relationship with Connections, especially if the groupings are really obtuse, but there is nothing like seeing all the groupings on the first go š
I cannot believe it is already time for the 200th! Love the idea of a giveaway of Erinās Fave Things or Hannahās Fave Things or collective Swipes Fave things š¤
Babies growing up is truly the height of Emotional Terrorism. Sigh. Itās been A WEEK or two or three, or heck, perhaps I should just say itās been a life these past few weeks haha. Iām in the throes of older teenager Big Scary Real problems that involve court dates and such, so Iām just trying to hold on, breath, and keep taking my Stupid Walksā¢ļø. Enjoy the weekend, everyone!!š« š
My good friend Sarah Jessica Parker alerted me to Connections, but my even better friend Erin H. Moon got me hooked on Spelling Bee š Genius or bust!
LOL. I guess my comment did sound like one of those "CLICK NOW" kind of things. I have no, um, connection to it. A comic book writer I follow learned about it and has made some about her books. I have a feeling Erin will get ALL IN for this. https://connections.swellgarfo.com

Connections! Where have you been all my life?
I am in for a gift exchange of some kind. Needing a little pick me up And it would be fun to think about what to give.
Ditto on babies growing up but also ditto on having older kids. Itās a beautiful, tragic love affair

Happy birthday, baby Cy!
Side note: big NYT Gamer, but only Wordle and crosswords. I'm not sure I have the capacity to delve into any more obsessions at this time.
Connections is my favorite of the NYT games but also have the wordle text thread.
I think best of comments would be a wild celebration!!
NYT gamer here! Obsessed with Connections. Also love Tiles. Does anyone pay for the games? Worth the cost? What does it unlock?
I started paying because I am āpracticingā crosswords, and that has been fun! No regrets for my one year but probably wonāt continue beyond that
I pay for the online version of NYT, and get the added benefit of an occasional headline that catches my eye. 100% there for the crosswords.
I used to, and it unlocks the archive if you're going through your games too fast! I let it lapse this year and barely noticed!
You can MAKE YOUR OWN Connections games.
Tell us more!!!
