That baseball game thread was a delight, and the penguin lady’s joy made me cry (and plan a trip to the zoo!) Looking forward to a few days of peace and quiet with my family. Games, movies, snacks...bring it on. Living far away from extended family is tough at the holidays, but there’s something to be said for getting to hang out in pyjamas all day. We're watching the documentary Happy in my health class right now. There's a section on communal living in the happiest country in the world, Denmark. I think that's what the homestead desire is getting at.
Erin - I just want to say I still love you even if I feel like you annihilated my opinions on several Christmas things this week on The Popcast. Making me question everything (hello, Enneagram 9) And I know I have trash opinions on many things but it’s the nostalgia for me.
Speaking of bad opinions, I thought I was done watching Hallmark Christmas movies but no. I have been watching almost all of them this year. And yes, I know they’re cheesy but many some of them actually get me. Holidays are fully of both joy and sadness with me and sometimes I need a good cry and I have definitely done that with some, specifically “Take Me Back For Christmas”. For non-Hallmark, we watched Last Christmas and it was sweet and lovely and gave me a good cry as well.
I have also been reading as many Christmas/winter books I can during this season. Although, trying too decide if I should finish the 4th Thursday Murder Club book since I am unable to renew it and it is due in 4 days but my heart says leave it and keep on with the seasonal books. The new Josie Silver, A Winter in New York, felt a little slow moving at first but turned out to be a delightful (and emotional) read.

I am sooo glad Winter Break is here! We are hosting through the weekend but then are just taking it easy. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
🧦 The rule in our house is that stocking stuffers must be either something to eat or ridiculous. I almost got this for my husband, but it was way over our tightly restricted stocking budget.

🎄 Christmastime is (almost) here! It’s been a much better holiday than in years past, thank God. AND, I’m grateful that my next counseling appointment is next week. Things here have been mildly stressful and it has been a stretching and growing season too. So much change and trying to adjust.
📱 The dating apps have been extra weird lately, send your thoughts and prayers. Seriously. Some of these men need therapy, others need to go to an insane asylum.
💌 Once the stamps I ordered come in, I’ll be sending some belated Christmas cards, and that is always a highlight. I hope it brightens others’ days like it did yesterday when for the very first time in my life, there was no junk mail, only amazing packages and several Christmas cards from my friends. Love. 🥲
