Iβm a volunteer for the Chicago show tomorrow & I am very excited to redeem the first time I got to say hi to you at a live show! (Birmingham 2022, VIP line, I cried π)
While the entire Tonys production was lackluster, we had some gems of acceptance speeches! Groff and Danielβs were fantastic and so sweet plus Lindsey Mendez tearing up for her cast mates was icing on the cake! But Kecia Lewisβs speech for her Hellβs Kitchen win was fantastic! βIβd like to thank my ENT who keeps these pipes working. People! Stop texting me!β Pure gold!
My kids are leaving in a week to go on a mission trip with my parents for 2 whole weeks. Weβve never been away from our kids this long. What to do? What to do? π
Daniel and Jonathanβs friendship π My daughter and I were in Pittsburgh last week with my bestieβs family, and this week have been sick with the crud that her kids got while we were there. So tired of blowing my nose!! One positive thing is that our doodle doggo seems to know that Iβm sick and is even more obsessed with me than usual. So many snuggles!
We have two trip planned for July - a camping trip up north with my friend and one of her kids, and then weβre going to Philly at the end of the month to see our beloved Liverpool FC play against Arsenal. β½οΈ
That Enneagram 7 meme about adopting an introvert at school was 10000% me as a kid (Ennea7 who moved a lot & has had mostly introverted friends π). πππ
For me, no big trips this summer, as Iβm still on maternity leave with this new cute lil babe of mine till the end of July (when I go back to work full time). Also, being at home by myself with this very cute (& very loud) baby girl has been both really lovely and *really* hard. Massive props to all of the SAHMs - holy cow, I knew it was a really hard job before kids (and also felt it wasnβt my calling) and after just 3 weeks alone with 1 kid, I am even more amazed & in awe of stay at home parents everywhere.
Speaking of being at home, I am struggling with what to do to have my days feel fun. Iβve spent the better part of 2 months watching TV while on leave, so Iβm ready for a break, but baby girl is still having a hard time in the car/car seat/stroller, so it feels difficult to get us out of the house. π¬
Whether you have kids or not - any ideas of things to do in the (very hot) summer with a 2 month old? (Besides going to Target everyday lol π).
Iβll be catching up on the Popcast Livestream on Sunday, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend, whatever youβll be doing! π
We just got back from Boston and it was SO dreamy!!! It was our first time visiting New England and we can't wait to go back again.
Highlights include:
- Lobster Rolls
- Red Sox game and Fenway Park tour. I don't even like baseball, but this whole experience was so cool!
- the Freedom Trail! All of the history! Seeing the grave of my boy Sam Adams!
- a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a REAL English muffin! Not the crap the serve at McDonalds.
- a food tour in the North End, which is a historical Italian-American neighborhood. This was my first time having real Italian food and now I finally understand why people love pasta and hate Dominoes.
- Exploring Beacon Hill on a rainy morning. It was like something out of a movie!
If you've never been to Boston I highly recommend it! It was basically a much more manageable NYC. GO!
I'm heading to Italy in september and I cannnnnottttt wait! This year has been consumed by health stuff and surgery and I'm 6 weeks post op and ready to have FUN again.
We had our big family trip already, so I am actually looking forward to some quiet staycation vibes. My husband and I are going to belatedly celebrate our 15th anniversary here: https://saltwellfarmkitchen.com and I am looking forward to that!
My friend asked me if our long trip was relaxing/rejuvenating for me and I tried to keep my face neutral when I said βnoβ but wanted to say βwith four kids in hotel rooms?? Are you nuts?β My rejuvenating trip will be in September when I head to Wichita for the Friends University Apprentice Gathering. Hotel to myself? β Listening to Emily P Freemenβs soothing voice in person? β
Some treasures:
1. All the Jonathan Groff-Daniel Radcliffe-Merrily content. I was not ready to cry so much Monday morning over acceptance speeches. π
Ahhhhh Nashville is one of my favorite places! If you need more food or experience recs, let me know! I went there last month and tried a bunch of new restaurants and a new museum that I adored.
I'm doing my first solo backpacking trip this summmmmer!
Yβall my algorithm has been a bit wonky lately (a strange amount of haircut vids) but today weβve restored perfect order: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7zIIO_O2p3/?igsh=azUyN21kcXJyNWJy

Can't wait to catch up in the comments! <3
That is such a good way of describing Boston! I had a quick friendsβ trip there about 7 years ago and want to go back so badly.

That restaurant looks AMAZING!!!! I need more dining experiences like this! Happy belated Anniversary!
Currently in Nashville for the first time. I ate a chicken and waffle taco the other day that had such amazing flavors it made me giggle! π€ βΊοΈ
