I honestly did not think we needed a Wicked movie when I first saw that it was coming out, but I was so wrong. I loved every second of it, and I’m usually pretty critical of musical adaptations (lookin at you, Gerard Butler as the Phantom and Russel Crowe as Javert) but Wicked was so so well done. Ariana and Cynthia were perfect, and they inhabited the characters so well without being copies of Idina and Kristin. The cameo was perfect. The choreography was different than typical Broadway choreo but it was brilliant, way to go Christopher Scott. And, they really got to the emotional core of the story. Can’t wait for part II!
“Colin is very weak…he’s a shellfish.” ☠️ I always wondered how the fight scenes were so perfectly done for those two characters!

🌊 We went to see Moana 2 as a family on Wednesday and it made me cry about 4 times. The music isn’t the same without Lin-Manuel, but I really enjoyed it.
Did I get legitimately teary-eyed at "I've never been better, Carrie Ann" during Ilona's freestyle? Yes. Do I now have a little crush on Alan? Also yes. I haven't watched DWTS regularly in probably 15 years, but after this season I am ALL IN.
Here's my favorite Thanksgiving song, as a treat. Yes, you do have to listen to all 18 minutes of it.
All I’ll say about Wicked at this time is that Jonathan Bailey is a MENACE and he’s at the height of his egregiousness in this role. Also I may have taken a gummy of some sort before going into the movie and it kicked in right as ‘Dancing Through Life’ started. So. You can imagine.
I'm not seeing it until 12/8 😭 But it will be a mid Xmas season treat. Everything was funny but for some reason the Titus gif at the end is what really killed me. Thanksgiving #1 is in the books and was lovely! And now we cook and clean for Thanksgiving #2 tomorrow. I'm still in autumn mode for a couple days, but the Xmas tree is waiting in the sun porch in a home depot bucket. I have many treasures this week, but here are two Internet ones:

I hope they do it marathon-style in the theatres like how Harry Potter and the Cursed Child used to be set up. Come to rewatch part 1. Have an intermission and then come back for Part 2. This needs to happen!!!
Erin, I was a theatre kid in HS, but wicked came out when I was in college and I totally missed it. Until now. And now I’m upset I haven’t had it all these years! It truly healed something inside me post-election. I have listened to the soundtrack so much now my four year old knows defying gravity and we co-sing together. I have delusions that I sound just as good as Cynthia (ha, as if) and my husband is over it lol

Saw Wicked earlier this week. I did not want it to be good and I didn’t want to like it much less love it but here we are. Cynthia Erivo brings such a depth to Elphaba we have not seen before. I was emotionally wrecked afterwards and cannot stop thinking about it. I’m gonna have to see it again. Did you know Stephen Schwarz also makes a cameo?!! The way I clapped when our OG witches, Kristen and Idina, came on the screen!
Where is my emotional support Olympian to cheer for?? I had the Olympics and then Hunter Woodall and then my beloved Ilona and Stephen on Dancing with Stars.. and now..... NOTHING! There's an Olympic sized hole in my social media.
I'm here to help! Figure skating season is ramping up and there are tons of interesting folks to root for! The Grand Prix finals are next weekend, US Championship in January, and worlds in March. This season's World Championships will determine how many Olympic spots each country gets in 2026, so it's a big deal. Names to watch include: Amber Glenn (USA), Kaori Sakamoto (Japan), Ilia Malinin (USA), Kevin Aymoz (France), Chock/Bates (USA), and Fear/Gibson (GB).
