🤓 The matriarchy, hope scrolling + slutty little glasses: Lil Treasures #284
Plus some guided journal insider news to kick off your weekend
Hi hi hi guess what guess what?
I can finally tell you about the pre-order bonus for the I’ve Got Questions Guided Journal: Prompts and Practices for Rewilding Your Faith (every time you see that written out for the next couple of months, please imagine me saying it like Oprah screaming the last word: FAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIITH!).
We’re having a cohort! That’s right. If you pre-order the guided journal (also, that’s a beat-up advanced reader copy I’m holding with a weird trim size, yours will be prettier), you can go here, fill out a quick form, and join a private cohort where we’ll walk through the journal together. Like you and me and whoever else pre-orders.
A private cohort was the GENESIS of this whole I’ve Got Questions journey (drink). Some of you were IN that original cohort1 and I seriously love y’all so much, I dedicated the whole dang thing to you:
So if you’ve already pre-ordered the journal, you can go ahead and head over to claim your bonus. There’s also a fun extra if you’re a leader who ordered five copies or more (the first 50 group leaders can snag an advanced reader copy to help prep for your group), and a fun extra if you order through Baker Book House (yes, more name plates while supplies last).
If you haven’t pre-ordered the journal, no time like the present! (That link is 40% off and free shipping)
Okay, you’ll get inundated with journal-y things for awhile, so let’s treasure it up, shall we?
🪈First things first: did you know that our beloved Jonathan Bailey played the clarinet in the Jurassic World movie soundtrack?
🧠 Just a friendly PSA to keep using those brains when you can, because there’s already research coming out about the effects of chatGPT on our cognitive function. You can read about the MIT research referenced in this Time magazine article.
🖇️ Don’t miss the June Office Hours episode of Faith Adjacent, out just in time for your holiday travels! You’ll hear our takes on pride, conspiracy theories, misinterpreting Bible verses and also get a few fun Patreon-only clips, as a treat. Listen to the episode here or wherever you access your pods!
🥩 One must create a marination station somewhere in your home in order to embrace the day as a fully-functioning member of society. Let me know what yours is (if you have one) in the comments!
🍎 It’s boiling outside and I want to turn your attention to the fact that the God who made us also prefers to hang out in the cool of the day.
🤓 Let’s circle back to Jonathan Bailey and this Jurassic World press tour because it is my whole personality at this moment. Will I see the movie? Probably not. But long live the slutty little glasses and the power they wield!
🧪Cannot get over this little girl explaining the plot of Wicked. Give her a podcast mic ASAP.
✈️ I’m going on a trip next week with friends and will be channeling this airport vibe with my heart and soul.
That’s it, ladies and gentlemen. Another week of treasures in the bag ✅ I’ll be cruising the Canadian and New England waters next week so the newsletter will be on a lil holiday break next Friday, but I’ll see you back here again in two weeks!
Erin PLEASE stop saying cohort.
Guess I should have opened the marination station link before coming to the comments- I was definitely picturing some BBQ tubs in a kitchen… 😬
Wooof that ChatGPT study! My tech nerd boss posted an article in Slack this week about how you can now connect ChatGPT to Google Drive, and the tutorial showed how you could give it a research prompt and it would pull data from both the web and your own Google files to write an analysis. I think I heard the collective thump of teachers and academics slamming their heads against their desks.
