I hadn’t heard of a marination station before. But my whole living room/parlor room is like that for our whole family. There’s no tv, the couch is comfy but not like the “lazy” couch. And it’s in the room with our big picture window so we can just look outside.
Yay! Excited about the guided journal. My EF book club is planning on doing it together! Seems like this Baker link might be broken or site is down today fyi *shrug
Timing is perfect - I was just looking at a corner in my office that I have recently cleaned out and thinking 'what shall I put there?' and now it will become the official marination station!!
Wooof that ChatGPT study! My tech nerd boss posted an article in Slack this week about how you can now connect ChatGPT to Google Drive, and the tutorial showed how you could give it a research prompt and it would pull data from both the web and your own Google files to write an analysis. I think I heard the collective thump of teachers and academics slamming their heads against their desks.
Ok, NO THANK YOU for that slap in the face, literally made me choke moment when Jonathan stated he saw Jurassic Park when he was FIVE. Oh My Lanta, I was laboring under the delusion that we were closer in age. I saw Jurassic park IN COLLEGE. 😫
I absolutely have a marination station. We have 2 extra rooms in our house, it’s just me and my husband. We use the one guest room a lot. The other was literally never used. So! It became my marination station. I bought one of those huge, oversized TikTok crazed chairs with the cup holders and charging ports to replace the bed. I bought art that I loved for the walls. I love “storied” things, commonly referred to as antiques. So, I have several around my marination station: a fancy rotary phone that I picture an old lady in curlers and cat glasses using. I have a phonograph that still works beside my chair and I have a folding camera from the late 1800s on my shelf. Obviously, my books are in the room with lots of blankets, plants and my cat. It’s my favorite place in the house. I highly recommend a marination station be in everyone’s home.
Ooooh, I kind of love knowing y’all are just up the coast from me? I will try not to hope for actual summer-like weather for the next week. Enjoy! Oh, and my marination station is actually my desk, which is around the corner from the kitchen and adjacent to the living room. I sit down with my coffee and a book which requires a light to read every morning to fortify myself for the day (this is how I force myself to sit under the “sun” light for 20 minutes). Starting today, it’s Botanical Bar Craft by Cassandra Elizabeth Sears, who led a workshop last night at a local farm, Vernon Family Farm. It was absolutely delightful.
YAYYYY I'VE GOT QUESTIONS COHORT HERE I COME!
I hope you have the best time in my country of origin (Canada) and current home state (Maine)!

“Hormonal explosion” has never been used in a better context!
The JW movie comes out on my birthday and my son has already let me know he’ll be taking me as my gift…to himself 😂😂😂😂

After literal years wanting one, I bought a hammock. That is absolutely my marination station
Guess I should have opened the marination station link before coming to the comments- I was definitely picturing some BBQ tubs in a kitchen… 😬

Erin, everytime I say the word: “journey,” now I respond to myself with “drink.” 🤣
Literally did that in a comment in the faith adjacent Patreon this week 😅

In the grand scheme of things that’s not far off 😅
